After serving as assistant professor of same university was appointed to present post as member of Precision Machinery Research Institute of Tokyo University of Technology. Has devoted himself to studies of gearwheel; received degree (1944); awarded the Japan Academy Prize for thesis “Studies on Gearwheel” (1953). High value is set on his work in putting transposing wheel to practical use. Also known for his researches on precision measurement and methods of precision inspection. Works include “Transposing Wheel,” “Cogwheel” and “Precision Measurement and Methods of Inspection.”
