After becoming Japanese National Doubles Tennis Champion in 1923, Harada moved to the United States to continue his studies at the Harvard University. In 1929 he won the All Japan Championship again both in singles and doubles. In 1925 he was avarded the American Advertising Federation World Trophy by the Amateur Athletic Foundation for his merits in tennis.
