Takeo Kojima engaged in wholesale business of cotton fabrics (from 1937) and in weaving of cotton and staple fiber cloths (from 1938). Reorganized his shops into Marutake Sen-i Kopryo (Fiber Industry) Company (1948). He enlarged the Manufacturing Department of his company into a separate company called Dai-ichi Mengyo (Cotton Industry) Company and became its president (1949). Changed the name of Marutake Sen-i Kogyo (Fiber Industry) Company to Marutake Boseki (Spinning) Company and became its president (1952).
