Takeo Yamamoto was reporter of Maiyii Jiji Shimpo and Tokyo Nichinichi Shimbun and thereafter served successively as president of Toyo Kogu (Implement) Company, Toyo Kozai Kogyo (Steel Materials Industry) Company and Shieki Keizai Joho (Economic News) Company.
He elected twice to House of Representatives (since 1948) and became permanent secretary director of Information Department and permanent commissioner of Japan Progressive Party and director of Information Department, member of Standing Executive Board and chairman of Election Countermeasure Committee of Bunji-to (Splinter Liberal Party) and then served as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Postal Service (1950-1952).
