Takeshi Tokano was born on February 11, 1903 in Tanuma, Tochigi, Japan.
He graduated from Politics & Economics Department of Waseda University (1925) and then studied at London University.
Takeshi Tokano made inspection tour of Europe, Asia and Soviet Union. Served for 10 years as reporter of Tokyo Asahi Shimbun (newspaper) (from 1930).
He became chief of Political Section of Tairiku Shirnpo (Continental News) (1940). Served then as chief of Guidance Section of Koa So-Hombu (Asia Development General Headquarters) and lecturer of Political Science Department of Utsunomiya University. Became lecturer and then professor of Tokai University (1952).
The same year attended M.R.A. World Conference in Ceylon and India. Attended Asian Socialist Conference in Rangoon as representative of Right-Wing Socialist Party (1953). The same year was elected to House of Councilors.
Member of House of Councilors (Socialist Party) (since 1953).
