Takeshiro Kanokogi studied first under Sangoro Matsubara and then at Fudosha (private school run by Shotaro Koyama) (1892). Later studied at Academie Julienne at Paris (1901) and after that made three tours of Europe.
Takeshiro Kanokogi was chief of the judging committee of Bunten exhibition and a leading figure in art circles. Among his noted paintings, is one titled "Fisherman’s House."
