Member Japanese Institute Metals (chairman Recrystallizatoin '99, 1999, Best Paper award 1992-1993, 2002-2003), Iron & Steel Institute of Japan (Meritorious prize 2003), the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society of American Institute of Mining.

Sakai, Taku was born on October 14, 1942 in Kaifeng, China. Son of Kunio and Emiko (Ikeda) Sakai.

Advisory professor Harbin (China) Institute Technology, since 1988.

Consultant NGK Insulators, Nagoya, Japan, since 1985. Chairman Research Committee on Recrystallization & Texture, Tokyo, since 1994. Co-chairman International Conference on THERMEC '97, Wollongong, Australia, 1994-1997.
