Education
Graduated from Naval Engineering College (1885) to devote himself entirely to a career with the Imperial Navy.
Career
Promoted vice-admiral (1914). Meantime was director of the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal, a director of munitions at the Kure Naval Arsenal, first director of the Bureau for Naval Construction, and rendered distinguished services in the manufacture and improvement of naval munitions.
