She was the sex columnist for Time Out and also wrote for the Independent on Sunday Talk of the Town magazine. A strong theme in her fiction and journalism is the female predicament, particularly with respect to sex, power and female dissolution. Her autobiographical memoir, Cleaning Up – How I Gave Up Drinking and Lived, was published in January 2008.
