Tanya Graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Michigan.
Tanya Shpakow works at an idea factory based in New Mexico called the Applewood Studio. Portions of the picture books, "Baba" and "On the Way to Christmas", were produced on site in New Mexico. Tanya and her helpers at the Applewood spend their days coaxing animals to pose for sketches and photo shoots.
