Tapas Paul did his graduation in Biology-Science from Hooghly Mohsin College under.
Paul"s first movie appearance was in 1980, in the film Dadar Kirti, directed by Tarun Majumder. He acted in many other movies such as Bhalobasha Bhalobasha and Guru Dakshina. He was an Modern Language Association from Alipore for two terms (2001-2006 & 2006-2009).
