Career
Tara Lynn Lemmey began her professional career in marketing while still a student at Rutgers University. From 1983 to 1987 she worked on the marketing staff of People Express Airline in Newark, New Jersey, where she gained early experience in corporate marketing and communications within the airline industry.
After completing her degree in 1987, Lemmey joined Douglas Turner Advertising in Newark as an account manager, working with corporate clients and assisting in the development and management of advertising campaigns. During the same period she also served as director of communications for United Way in Newark from 1987 to 1988, where she was responsible for communication initiatives and public outreach.
Lemmey later continued her career in the advertising industry in New York City, joining Hammond Farrell, Inc. as an account manager. In this role she worked with client accounts and coordinated advertising strategies and campaign development.
She subsequently worked with the international advertising agency Young & Rubicam in New York City. Her work included managing print advertising campaigns and client communications for companies such as Corning Telecommunications, Benjamin Moore Paint, UNISYS, and Anderson Consulting.
