Career
He is best known as the author and illustrator of the comic strip "First Rate (at Lloyd's) Khan", which first appeared on the pages of The Daily News Egypt newspaper in 2008 and continues to run independently on the series" website. Shahin"s satirical work in the 2000s - a time of relative political suppression in Egypt - has been associated with the young liberal movement which would ultimately lead to political regime change in the country in 2011. Shahin is also a banker in the City of London, according to the bio section of "As You Were," his fourth "First Rate (at Lloyd's) Khan" book
In a March 2014 installment of First Rate (at Lloyd's) Khan, Shahin apparently makes a cameo and refers to his having moved to London at some stage.
