Born in Satkhira, Tariq Anam Khan is the eldest son of Fakhrul Anam Khan and Jahanara Khanam.

He is a prominent actor in theatre, television, and film and is considered one of the legendary and powerful actors in Bangladesh today. He is more known for his roles in films The Last Thakur and Ghetuputra Kamola. He is founding member and leader of prominent Bangladeshi theatre group,, where he holds the position of Principal Secretary.
In addition, he was a freedom fighter in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.
He entered in cultural premise as his family was culturaly inclined. He was familiar to different types of books and drama as Satkhira is near to Kolkata.
As a student of Science he wanted to become a Pilot or Engineer. But when liberation war broke out, he acted in various drama in Sector 9.
In 1976, he accepted an opportunity to attend the National School of Drama, New Delhi on a government scholarship.
In his last year, he was awarded as the best all-rounder in the school. He joined Bangladeshi theatre group "" after his return from the National School of Drama. Later, Tariq Anam Khan parted ways with due to some differences in opinion and founded on October 11, 1990 along with Jhuna Chowdhury, Tauqir Ahmed, and Nahid Ferdous Meghna.
Advertising Khan started his career in Marketing by founding ad firm Adshop and made television commercials for different multinational firms.
In 2014, the company was responsible for organizing the shooting in Bangladesh for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Tariq Anam Khan was credited as Production Supervisor.
He is now Marketing expert of Akij Group. He worked in different department such as Brand Development, Marketing Communication, Sales and Distribution of Akij Group.
He gained popularity for his portrayal of a smuggler in television series Tothapi (1995) which was telecast on Bangladesh.
He is currently General Secretary of Program Producers Association of Bangladesh.
