Graduated from Political & Economics Department of Tokyo University in 1917.
Career
Entered Nihon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) and served at its New York Branch Office; made inspection tour of England, France, Switzerland and Italy. Returned home in 1924; resigned in 1925. Served successively as professor of Musashi Higher School; dean of students, chief of Students' Section and librarian at Kyoto University; director of Takaoka Higher Commercial School, Takaoka Engineering College, Takaoka College of Economics and Yamaguchi Higher School. Became director in 1949 and president in 1950 of Kyoto Municipal Fine Arts University.
