Taro Nakajima

Background

Taro was born in 1888 in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.

Education

In 1914 Taro graduated from Politics & Economics Course of Junior College Department of Waseda University.

Career

After graduation from the University Taro entered the Niroku Shimbun (Newspaper). In 1915 went to the United States as special correspondent of above news­paper. While there attended a post­graduate course of Columbia University and served as manager of Nichibei Shimbun (Japan-America Newspaper). In 1927 re­turned home. In the period from 1927 to 1944 served then as chief of Students' Section of Waseda Univer­sity. Twice was an elected mayor of Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture in 1947 and 1951. In 1953 elected to House of Representatives. Made inspection tours of China, Europe, and the United States.
