She started her music career, in 2000, with the release of the religious Tarralyn Ramsey album by Verity Records. This would be her Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. Her second album, Tarralyn Ramsey was a secular album, and it was released in 2004 by Casablanca Records.
The album would chart again, but this time around on the Rhythm & Blues Albums chart.
She would release an independent album on her label Taraprincel Records in 2009, yet this did not chart. She has a younger sister.

Both of her religious records were reviewed by Cross Rhythms magazine, where they were rated a seven out of ten.
