Tashiro Yoshimitsu was one of the three most distinguished swordsmiths of the period. No dates are available, though he is said to have lived during the Karnakura Period. Only one long sword of his is extant as he believed that a master should produce only one masterpiece in his life time. Several fine quality short swords of his exist.
