She competed for the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics in the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montreal, Canada in the 4 x 100 metres where she won a bronze medal with her team mates Lyudmila Maslakova, Vera Anisimova and Natalya Bochina. She returned to the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow this time moving up to the 4 x 400 metres where she won the Gold medal with her team mates Tatyana Goyshchik, Nina Zyuskova and Irina Nazarova.
