Tatsujiro Sato was born in 1868 in Fukui Prefecture, Japan.
Assigned to Surgery Department of Juntendo Hospital (1900). Went to Vienna for study (1903). He became president of Tokyo Igaku Semmon Gakko (Tokyo Medical College) (1918), director of Juntendo Hospital, president of Joshi Bijutsu Semmon Gakko (Women's College of Fine Arts) and honorary principal of Sato Girls' High School (1921) and chief director of Women's College of Fine Arts.
Served as member of House of Peers (1939-1940).
