Tatsuo Sugita was born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1904.
He graduated from Tokyo University (1928).
Tatsuo Sugita served as director of Synthetic Fiber Research Institute and director of Dai Nippon Celluloid Central Research Institute and thereafter he was appointed president of Toyo Vinyl Association and director of Nippon Chemical Industry and Paper Manufacturing Company (1951).
Meantime he pursued researches on plastics, chemical fiber and synthesized products and received a Technical Board prize for his researches on synthesis and processing of thermo-setting plastics. Works include "Outline of Plastics Industry" and "The New Chemical Fiber."
