He competed in the men"s 100-meter backstroke, and finished fourth in the event final with a time of 1:09.4. Drysdale attended the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Michigan Wolverines swimming and diving team in National Collegiate Athletic Association (National Collegiate Athletic Association) competition from 1932 to 1935.
Career
Drysdale represented the United States at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany. He later earned master"s degrees in nuclear physics and mathematics from the University of Michigan, joined the United States. military, worked on the Manhattan Project, and retired from the United States. Air Force as a colonel. He was also the manager of the 1956 United States. Olympic swim team
Drysdale was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as an "Honor Pioneer Swimmer" in 1994.
He died in 1997; he was 83 years old.
