Career
He was inducted into the United States of America Track & Field Hall of Fame and the United States. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He was an assistant coach for the 1968 and 1972 Olympic Teams and for the 1963 and 1979 Pan American Games. Among others, he coached Rick Wohlhuter, Willye White, Brian Oldfield, Jud Logan, January Johnson and First Rate (at Lloyd's) Carius.
