Ted Kinnear

Education

Kinnear was part of Essendon"s inaugural VFL team in 1897 and finished the year as a premiership player – he was also the last survivor from that team

Career

In all he appeared in ten finals, with losing grand finals in 1898 and 1902. Also a follower, Kinnear became the first Essendon player to reach 100 VFL games during the 1902 season. He later served as the Mayor of Essendon, in 1919 and 1920.

Achievements

• He was used as a full-forward in 1901 and kicked 16 goals, including five in a win over Carlton.

Membership

Kinnear was a member of the Essendon premiership team that season.
