Teiichi Ikeda was born in Edo to a family close to the Shogun.
He studied under Nagatada Shiraishi.
Teiichi Ikeda have dedicated ten mathematical problems with their answers to the Kanda Shrine in Edo and to have published a book titled "Inexhaustible Principles of Numbers" (1830). One of the problems was a theorem connected with tangents which it is said was studied much earlier than it was in Western countries.
