Graduated from Law Department of Tokyo University (1919)
Entered general head office of Sumitomo Company. Studied for over three years at Williams College and Harvard University, U.S.A. and Oxford University, England (from 1922). Became chief of General Affairs Section of Sumitomo Metal Industry Company (1928) and after successive promotions became senior managing director (1946). Resigned and became director of Ishikawa Seisakujo (Manufacturing) Company and director of Nihon Spindle Manufacturing Company (1949) and thereafter became president of Osaka Titanium Company (since 1952). Made official tour of Europe and America (1934). Holds various additional posts including those of chief director of Titanium Konwakai (Council) and director of Toyo Seiko Kaisha (Steel Company).
