Teru Takakura was born on April, 14 in 1891 in Kochi, Japan.
Teru Takakura graduated in English Literature from Kyoto University.
First turned his hand to drama and published "Burning of Women," "Autumn in the Strait," etc. (about 1920). Later turned to historical novels and published "Life of Yugaku Ohara," etc.
During World War II was arrested three times for leading farmer's movements. After the war, became a member of the Communist Party.
Works include "River Takase", "Japanese Language" and "Tales of Hakone Irrigation Canal".
