Terumasa Ikeda was born in Tokyo, originally named Seishiro.
Studied ukiyoe painting first under Toshikata Mizuno and then under Gyokudo Kawai.
Later married Shoen Sakakibara and both husband and wife thereafter worked together. Their work was displayed every year at the art exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Education. Representative works of his are yudachi (shower), Ryogoku and Kobikicho-no-konjaku.
