He graduated from Kobe Higher Commercial School in 1920.
Career
Teruo Miyake entered Mitsubishi Shōji Kaisha (Trading Company) and served at its Sempakubu (Shipping Department) and branch offices in Buenos Aires and Chile. After successive promotions became manager of Kobe Branch.
Appointed president of Kobe Shoji Kaisha (Trading Company) in 1948 and after, that company was merged into Santo Shoji Kaisha (Trading Company) became its senior managing director in 1949. When the company was renamed Tokyo Boeki Kaisha (Trading Company) became its managing director and manager of its Osaka Branch. Appointed the director of Mitsubishi Shoji (Trading) Company and assumed additional post of director of Materials Department in 1954.
