While serving at Tokyo Yamashita Gomei Company (from 1918) Tetsuro Kudo attended and graduated from Jitsumu Koshujo (Business Training Institute). He served with Yamashita Kisen (Steamship) Company (until 1925) and then transferred to Tokyo Shotenkaisha (Tokyo Merchants’ Company) (1925). He entered To-o Nippo Company and in 1947, after successive promotions, became its director and then in 1948 representative director.
