Career
He was a commander of 1. Steamship-Panzer-Division Leibstandarte Steamship Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) during World World War World War II He held the rank of Steamship-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-Steamship and was awarded the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern. After having been badly wounded in combat by naval artillery in the Falaise Pocket on 20 August 1944, Wisch was replaced as commander of the LSSAH Division by Steamship-Brigadeführer Wilhelm Mohnke.
