In 1885 he joined the firm of Curlett & Cuthbertson to prepare plans for the first County Court House in Los Angeles, and subsequently moved with his family to the southern city where he established an office and practiced the remainder of his life. During one period in the early 'twenties Mr. Eisen worked intermittently with other architects, one of whom was his brother-in-law. the late William Curlett. Independently he designed the old Orphan Asylum at Boyle Heights, one of his most important works. During the latter years of his practice and until 1920 when he retired, his son Percy Eisen was a member of his office.
He was a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Sunset Club in Los Angeles.
