Rodolf was elected to the Assembly in 1868. That same year, he was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin"s 6th congressional district, losing to incumbent Cadwallader C. Washburn, and also served as Mayor of Louisiana Crosse, Wisconsin. Previously, Rodolf was President of Mineral Point, Wisconsin from 1851 to 1852 and Receiver of Public Moneys of Louisiana Crosse from 1853 to 1861.
He was a Democrat.
