Thomas Bennett was the father of Wakefield Trinity rugby league football player of the 1900s Ernest Bennett, and the maternal great-grandfather of the Featherstone Rovers, and Wakefield Trinity rugby league football player of the 1950s and "60s, Donald "Don" Metcalfe.
