Thomas Freeman has lived in Beloit, Wisconsin since 1981 when he was appointed associate professor of German in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Beloit College. In addition to German, Freeman has taught Yiddish and Hebrew (modern). He led study abroad programs at the University of Hamburg and the University of Erfurt. He has five children. His son Danek is a partner at the law office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York City.
