Career
He was elected to Parliament as Member for Liverpool at a by-election on 20th November 1724 on the death of Langham Booth, and was then re-elected at the general election in 1727, and then again at the general election in 1734. He was mayor of Liverpool from 1733 to 1734. for Flint Boroughs. He was the father of the antiquary Owen Salusbury Brereton.
