He wore jumper # 45. He was drafted to Hawthorn via the rookie draft with pick 36. He played with the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup before he was drafted. He currently stands at 178 cm tall.
Many people were surprised when he was not selected in the 2010 American Federation of Labor-Congress draft.
His junior club was Blackburn in the city of Melbourne. Schneider models his game on Hawthorn star Sam Mitchell.
Rewarded for an impressive season, the hard working midfielder finished in first place ahead of defender Thomas Murphy. After playing 14 games in 2011 for Box Hill, Schneider returned in 2012 to appear in all 20 matches for the VFL"s Hawks affiliate including their two finals.
The in and under midfielder averaged 25 possessions a game across the season and was named in Coach Damian Carroll’s best on nine separate occasions.
