Tidy was a right-handed batsman. Tidy made a single first-class appearances for Kent against the Gentlemen of the Marylebone Cricket Club in 1868 at the Street Lawrence Ground. In Kent"s first-innings of 145, Tidy was dismissed for 5 runs by Richard Mitchell, while in their second-innings of 148 he was dismissed for 16 runs by Charles Buller.
This was his only major appearance for Kent.
He died at Hildenborough, Kent on 11 September 1918.
