WHITWORTH, Thomas was born on February 18, 1844 in Cheetwood, Manchester. Son of late Benjamin Whitworth, Justice of the Peace, formerly Member of Parliament for Drogheda and Kilkenny City, and Jane, daughter of late Thomas Walker, Salford.
Studied at private schools.
Was member of the late firm of Benjamin Whitworth and Brothers, Manchester, general merchants. Member of Parliament Drogheda Liberal, 1870-1874. Member of the Withington and Urmston Local Boards for 8 years.
Retired since 1 1874.
Spouse 1867, Elizabeth, c.daughter of late Robert Shaw, Justice of the Peace, Colne.
