Admitted to bar, December 23, 1873, and Supreme Court of the United States Court bar. Member Board State Charities, Indiana, 1892-1899. Member Indiana Senate, 1895-1899.

Drew present law as to care of dependent children, also remolding penal system, establishment parole system and indeterminate sentence law, etc. First president Indiana Reformatory.
