Graduated from the United States Naval Academy, 1868.

Career

Entered United States Navy, October 1, 1863. After 22 years’ sea service and 40 years’ service, was advanced to rank of rear admiral and retired at own request, February 11, 1905 (third of same name to attain flag rank in United States Navy).

Served in Civil War and in P.I. during insurrection. Youngest original naval. Member S.R., Military Order of the Carabao.
