Participant of collection of his essays published in Knickerbocker, 1837-1838. Helped bring publicity to Western literary endeavors in early 19th century.
Author: Betterton: A Novel (unpublished), and Drayton: A Story of American Life, 1851. Contributor many poems and essays to magazines including Western Messenger, Western Literary Journal and Monthly Magazine.
