Admitted to bar, 1880, and entered practice at Denver. Democratic candidate for Congress from Colorado at-large, 1890. Candidate for United States senator before Colorado General Assembly, 1911.

Contest resulted in deadlock.

Received large note in primaries, 1912, for Democratic nomination for senator Chairman Colorado delegation, Democratic National Convention, 1904, and seconded nomination of Parker for President.

Vice president Colorado Commission to Saint Louis, Exposition, 1904 (one of original organizers and member original Executive Committee).
