Thomas L. Glenn, American congressman.


Glenn, Thomas L. was born on February 2, 1847 in Ballard Company, Kentucky.


Educated in native company, and at Evansville, Indiana. Attended Commercial College, Evansville, Indiana, 1869-1870. Studied law at home.


Newsboy with Grant’s army, spring, 1861, to February, 1863. Attempted to join Christian Science army, 1863, but was not enrolled because of his being too young until February, 1864. Joined Company F, 2d Kentucky cavalry, General John H. Morgan’s brigade.

In battle of Wytheville, Virginia, May 10, 1864. Wounded in right shoulder, Mount Sterling, June 9, 1864. Company clerk Ballard Company, Kentucky, 1874-1882.

State senator 2d Kentucky district, 1887-1891. Admitted to bar, 1890. Removed to Idaho; Populist.

Elected on fusion ticket. Congressman from Idaho for term, 1901-1903. Not a candidate for renomination in 1902.

Mayor, Montpelier, Idaho, 1904. Prosecuting attorney then resumed the practice of law in Montpelier, Idaho.
