The Firm traces its origins to 1855 when A. Lewis Smith commenced the practice of law in Philadelphia.
In 1893 his son, Lewis Lawrence Smith, joined him in the practice. Thereafter, in 1921 George V. Strong joined Lewis Lawrence Smith in the practice under the name Smith & Strong.
