Bullitt, Thomas W. was born on May 17, 1838 in Oxmoor, Jefferson Company, Kentucky, United States. Son of William Christian and Mildred Ann (Fry) Bullitt.
Graduate Centre College. Bachelor of Arts, 1858 (A.M.), University of Pennsylvania Law School, Bachelor of Laws, 1861.
Company C, 2d Kentucky Cavalry, General Morgan’s Division, C.S.A. Captured by Federal troops, July, 1863. Confined in Columbus (O.) Penitentiary, August, 1863, to March, 1864.
In Fort Delaware, March, 1864, to March, 1865. Paroled in March, 1865, for exchange and sent through to Richmond, but General Lee surrendered before actually exchanged. Admitted to bar in Philadelphia, 1861.
Settled in Louisville, Kentucky, 1865, practicing law continuously. Member Bullitt & Bullitt, since 1900.
