Tim Mills is a former British actor, screenplay writer, journalist and stand-up comedian.
Background
Mills was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka to parents Diana West and George Mills. His father"s career in insurance took the family around the world, during Tim"s childhood, to destinations including: Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Kenya, and the United Kingdom
Education
Tim was educated at Denstone College in Staffordshire, and later gained a degree in Economics at Liverpool University.
Career
Mills began his entertainment career in stand-up comedy, performing at small venues and universities. After working in menial jobs alongside his comedy for a number of years, Tim trained at drama school in 1986 and worked in film and television until 2004 - in both acting and writing. Despite appearing alongside Dennis Waterman and Julia McKenzie in the critically acclaimed film Volume(s)-au-Vent, Mills is perhaps most well known in acting circles for his work in commercials on United Kingdom and German television
Mills was also acclaimed for his writing, regularly collaborating with Michael Jaffer of "Sugarfree s".
Also at the time a regular feature writer for the London Evening Standard, Tim wrote the screenplay for the award-winning Channel 4 short film "Sunny Spells" before co-writing the screenplay for "Full Circle". He also recently co-wrote the feature film screenplay for "Rocky Road", and has further screenplays in pre-production.
While he continues to write, Tim has now retired from acting.
