Career
He was selected fifteenth in the first round of the 1981 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics. He grew up on the South side of Chicago, attending Marist High School. Pyznarski led Marist to the IHSA Class Associate of Arts State Championship in 1978.
After a stellar high school career, he went on to attend Eastern Illinois.
He set several offensive records at EIU.
