Career
In 1984 he worked for several stations including British Broadcasting Corporation Radio York and British Broadcasting Corporation Radio Shropshire. In April 1989, after a short stint with British Broadcasting Corporation WM, Tim went onto present the weekend early show from 5-7am on British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 1, where he remained until March 1990, when he was succeeded by Gary King. He occasionally filled in on the weekday early show during 1991.
He also presented the 29 June 1989 episode of Top of the Pops alongside Anthea Turner.
From then on, he went on to present the weekday afternoon show on British Broadcasting Corporation GLR, The GLR Picture Show & also presented a phone in popular quiz on the old British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 5, entitled Popcall, which he did for three years. He also presented the United Kingdom Top 20 Chart Show on the British Broadcasting Corporation World Service for nearly 14 years from October 1989.
In the mid 1990s, Tim presented programmes for Magic 105.4 & the breakfast show on London"s Jazz FM. He joined British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 2 in 1999 as a co-presenter on Steve Wright in the Afternoon. Tim can also be heard regularly on British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 2 sitting-in for the likes of Alex Lester and Janice Long.
