Berry is a former Deputy Sheriff who, after completing law school, served for over thirteen years as a prosecutor in the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Mr. Berry is perhaps best known in legal circles for introducing deoxyribonucleic acid in a criminal prosecution for the first time ever in the United States. Mr. Berry has training and extensive practical experience in traffic crash investigations, having supervised the traffic division for the prosecution prior to entering into private practice.
